MICRONEEDLING PORTLAND

Microneedling is a procedure performed by a skincare specialist that uses multiple, tiny needles, less than 0.25mm each in diameter, to create controlled micro-injuries to stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is stimulation of collagen production and effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact. The production of new collagen leads to firmer, tighter, smoother skin.

Suppose you are looking for a treatment that can help improve your skin’s appearance or lessen acne scars, improve your skin tone, have skin rejuvenation, remove stretch marks, or improve your skin’s texture. In that case, you may want to consider microneedling treatments where the procedure is available at Riviere Med Spa Clinic in Portland, Oregon, and can produce excellent results. This exciting new technique can help rejuvenate your skin and activate cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift skin, promote growth factors by removing dead skin cells, and improve the skin’s ability to regenerate a new one. Microneedling is, known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), lightens darker skin tones and all skin types.

Microneedling uses the Rejuvapen NXT pen. The pen that is FDA approved, uses a tip with many microneedles that are stamped into the skin to create micropores that activate cellular regeneration. Microneedling is also used extensively with Botox Injections. Please ask our staff about this combination treatment.

QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

Microneedling in Portland helps to improve the skin’s tone and texture, soften scar tissue and stimulate collagen growth. The new collagen can help fill in concave scars and wrinkles from the deeper layers up resulting in smoother, more even-toned skin. This process can take several months to produce visible results, but some clients have experienced noticeable results after only a few days.

  • Acne scars and other types of scars, such as chicken pox scars
  • Fine lines and creepiness
  • Sun Damage
  • Striae (stretch marks)
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Pigmentary changes, such as hyperpigmentation and melasma

An anesthetic cream is used to make the treatment comfortable. A layer of purified hyaluronic acid may be applied to lubricate the skin so the treatment wand glides smoothly over the skin surface. Often, microneedling is performed with for an enhanced result. After treatment, your skin may appear slightly reddened, similar to a sunburn. Serums, which can more deeply penetrate the skin, may be used in treatment.
Multiple treatments are often required for more severe skin conditions. The number of microneedling sessions depends entirely upon the current condition of the patient’s skin. Deeper scars or stretch marks may need five or more treatments. However, someone with mild to moderate acne scarring may only require three or four treatments. For best results, we schedule each treatment four to six weeks apart, giving the skin time to heal between treatments.

The Microneedling that we do here at Riviére Med Spa is performed by highly trained specialists. Each treatment is customized for the individual client, with the microneedles penetrating to various depths, depending on the area treated and the integrity of the skin. A sterile needle cartridge is used for each procedure and we practice rigorous sanitation protocols to minimize risk of infection. Home needling procedures typically use a roller, which is not sterile and can become dull with continued use. This can lead to skin damage and infection.

We take a sample of blood from your arm and spin it in a centrifuge in a specialized vial, thereby separating the vital fluid and platelets from the blood cells. This process makes it possible to achieve a vital fluid that has 10 times more platelets than are usually found in blood, and this “blood fluid” vital fluid is very rich in growth factors.

The procedure is done much the same as standard microneedling, with the application of anesthetic cream prior to treatment. The skin is thoroughly cleansed and may be injected into specific scars and wrinkles which are of special concern. Next, is drizzled from a syringe onto the face as the microneedling is done. There may be some redness and possibly some spots of pinpoint bleeding which will resolve very quickly.

You should go directly home after your microneedling session. If you have had microneedling/ , avoid washing your face until bedtime. Stay indoors for the next 12 hours, which is when you will be able to apply sunscreen. Be sure to protect your skin from the sun! There may be some mild redness and possibly swelling for a couple of days. You may even have a bit of flaking, but it will resolve very quickly.

The cost depends upon the number of treatments needed, the area treated and whether is used. Please call us to schedule a complimentary consultation.
